Lancashire RFU are delighted to announce the launch of a new County Representative Team ;The Lancashire Royals.

Over the past fifteen years the Senior Lancashire XV has competed  successfully  in the prestigious Bill Beaumont Cup with 11 Twickenham appearances since 2002.The players have almost exclusively been drawn from Clubs competing in the top four levels of the English Leagues.

The County Board recognises that there are a large group of talented and ambitious players, with a strong allegiance to Lancashire, competing at Levels 5 and under. The Lancashire Royals is a representative side giving the opportunity for these players to represent the County and selection will be restricted to players competing at these league levels and players who have previously played for the Senior XV will not be eligible.

Lancashire President Tom Fitzgerald said “ The formation of the Royals is a unique initiative and we intend to play up to three games in a season. It is another example of how the County is at the forefront of exciting projects to develop the game at adult Club and representative levels.”

The inaugural game is on Tuesday 27th December 2016 at Preston Grasshoppers against the iconic Anti-Assassins.

The Royals will be coached by Martin Scott and Adrian Moffatt and managed by Howard Hughes. There are a group of selectors but we welcome and encourage nominations from Clubs and these should be sent to Howard Hughes at .
