Lancashire Rugby Development Centre
The Lancashire Development Centre is a very successful initiative designed to offer Courses and Seminars to enrich the coaching knowledge and exzperience of Coaches and Teachers in Lancashire. Since the introduction of the project there have been 40+ events delivering Sessions to in excess of 1000 coaches and players at 26 Clubs . The sessions are co ordinated by Development Centre Manager Mark Nelson and President Tom Fitzgerald and some very high profile and gifted presenters have delivered sessions. These include Brian Ashton,England World Cup Final Coach, Clive Griffiths,Head Coach Doncaster Knights,Lee Blackett ,Backs Coach Wasps, Pete Anglesea,Lead Coach Sale Sharks,Steve Hanley,former England and leading premiership try scorer and also current and former Lancashire players who have imparted their knowledge to the group of players, teachers and coaches. Another unique element of the system is that the players involved in the delivery are club 1st XV squad and this has been a very well received part of the process. The Annual Lancashire Coaching Conference in August is extremely successful and has a prominent place in the Coaching Calendar within the County.There has been a Teachers Conference at AKS Lytham with another planned for the New Year.
