Lancashire U17 – 2018/19 - Assessment Day – Wider Development Squad
The coaching team was both impressed and delighted with the standard of performance during the Assessment Day at Myerscough College last Sunday and would like to thank the players and the Lancashire clubs, schools, colleges, coaches and parents for their commitment and support. This resulted in a significant number of players being identified as potential County players.
We have therefore decided to select a Wider Development Squad to commence the 2-year journey with this age-group through to North U18 and England Counties U18 next season. The number of players in the squad reflects the quality and strength in depth of the age-group.
As we stated last Sunday, it is an achievement to be nominated for Assessment Day so we would like to congratulate the players who were nominated but have not been selected and wish that they will continue to improve and enjoy their rugby.
We would also like to thank the Team of Assessors, who volunteered their time, stayed until late in the evening and provided every player with their 1-to-1 feedback, and Myerscough College for providing the use of the 3G pitch and excellent facilities.
The list of players selected for the Wider Development Squad is attached to this announcement.

Lancashire U17 Development Day on Sunday 3 March 2019 at Myerscough College
We will announce the squad for Development Day as soon as we have completed the further assessment of the players.
This is the beginning of your transition in to senior rugby. It’s a 4-year journey through Lancashire age-grade rugby for this group followed by senior Lancashire rugby so, if you have not been selected for the Wider Development Squad, stay positive, be patient and work hard to improve your standard of performance. The door will always be open for you with Lancashire Rugby.
Yours in Rugby
