Honda Volunteer Recognition Programme

The Honda Volunteer Recognition Programme provides grassroots rugby clubs, Constituent Bodies and the rugby community with opportunities to recognise and reward the volunteers who make up an integral part of the game.
There are over 100,000 volunteers who give back to grassroots rugby, week in, week out. From the kit washers to the line painters and the bus drivers to the tea makers, the game that we all know and love wouldn’t be the same without the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
We had 79 Honda Volunteer Award winners in Lancashire. The first presentations were made across the weekend of our two senior county Championships matches at Firwood Waterloo on 7th and 8th May.
The third event was at Tyldesley RUFC on Friday 27/5/22 where the top 10 award winners from the county were treated to a wonderful meal and had their awards were presented by Holly Aitchison and Hannah Botterman of Saracens and the Red Rose Grand Slam winning squad. Holly was also an age grade Lancashire player in her youth  so was very happy to drive back up to Lancashire to present the awards for us. At the end of the evening, Lancashire President, Gill Burns, was delighted to reveal the two Lancashire winners who were chosen by the National panel of judges from Honda and the RFU. Arthur Crabtree of Didsbury Toc H and Mark Willis of Clitheroe were chosen to attend the national awards dinner at Twickenham in September where 3 national winners will be announced.
Congratulations to all our award winners and thank you for all you do for rugby in Lancashire
