Great news from Heaton Moor RUFC

Paul Bailey at the National Rugby Awards

Heaton Moor RUFC's Mini and Junior section won the prestigious Youth and Mini Section of the year prize at the National Rugby Awards at Twickenham.

The award was judged by England legends Jeremy Guscott, Jeff Probyn (a past speaker at our Sportsman's Dinner but no bias!) and Sue Day.The club was shortlisted along with five other Mini & Junior sections from around the country and won the overall prize after a rigorous judging process.

It is a ringing endorsement of all the hard work put in by the players, RDO, coaches, managers, parents, supporters and officials over the past few years and shows that the club is well positioned to make the most of the upsurge in interest that will surely be generated by the upcoming World Cup.

The club is now looking for new players at all age groups ready for what promises to be an exciting season. If you know anyone aged 5 to 16 whether they're new to the sport or an experienced player then email HeatonMoorRugby@yahoo.co.uk for details on how to get involved.
