Lancashire Development Centre staged the first Coach and Player Development session of 2017 at Wigan RUFC on Wednesday 27th February.
The Advanced Lineout Session was delivered by Alex Loney ,Fylde and Lancashire player and coach. The Wigan 1st XV squad pack were coached by Alex and the session was observed by Club Coaches from across the county.
Martin Scott, Wigan Head Coach was delighted with the session and the players gained a lot on valuable input to reinforce the work done by Martin at the Club.Everyone involved stayed behind for the excellent Pie and Pea Supper provided in the Clubhouse after the session.
Lancashire Development Centre programme is unique in England and is part of many programmes that support the County’s coaches,clubs and players at key levels throughout the year.
Development Centre manager Mark Nelson who organised the session said. “ Lancashire is very proactive in developing the game at Club ,University and School level in the key 16 -24 age group. It is brilliant that we engage with our Clubs and bring the outstanding pool of talented Coach Deliverers to the Clubs to help develop the game progress. We are striving to support the game in our county with innovative schemes and programmes. The next session is “Attacking Play “ with Warren Spragg at Trafford MV next Wednesday 8th March at 7pm.
