Mark Nelson has sent the following information about this season's County Championship.
“ The Bill Beaumont County Championship begins this weekend with a new Conference based format. Lancashire have three games, Northumberland at Home on Saturday 6th May at Fylde followed by two away games against Eastern Counties at Cambridge and last years finalists Cheshire at Sale FC.
The standard of competition is once again going to be very demanding and we understand the challenges in each of the three fixtures will be very tough. We have had two training sessions so far with another two prior to the Northumberland game. There is a great spirit and attitude within the squad which is fantastic given the length and pressures of the League programme the players have just gone through at their clubs. The players are very loyal to the County and recognise the honour that pulling on the famous shirt represents.
We are hoping there will be a large turn out of Lancashire supporters to cheer on the team and I am sure the players will give 100% to the cause in the opening game of the 2017 campaign “
