Lancashire (and Sale Sharks) DPP Festival for Under 13’s

Lancashire DPP will be running a combined district festival on the 14^th of March @ Heaton Moor

 Players and coaches to arrive from 5.30pm. First game will kick off at 6.30pm prompt. Festival aims to be completed by 8.30pm.

 Competing in the festival will be North Lancashire, Manchester and Merseyside (under 13’s). Each district will have two teams at the festival.

 Festival rules for U13’s are based on the RFU’s ‘New Rules of Play’. Summary as follows:

·        Pitch is 90x60M

·        15 minute game (no half time)

·        13 players per team

·        6 trained players in the scrum

·        Scrum is contested (hooker can strike for ball. Can only push up to 1.5m and only rotate up to 45°)

·        There will be no line-outs

·        Instead of line-out (this will be a free pass 5 meters in from touch to the attacking side – defending side retreats at least 7M)

·        No goal kicks

·        Hand-offs allowed

·        Rolling subs allowed
